The Yada
The Yada is a tool with which users can view and generate synopses of articles across the web. My team developed a Google Chrome Extension for viewing and creating these "Yadas" and a website for displaying and sorting them.
Just give me the yada.
This was my final project at The Iron Yard. My team and I started by developing and pitching our idea, and took the roject through the complete development cylcle ending with deployment. Technologies used: Java, Spring MVC with Hibernate, Jsoup, and Postgresql
APitunes
A platform to help local musicians exhibit their music. Artists can create profiles and upload music for other users. Non-artist users can listen to local music and vote on the music they listen to.

Tech used: Java with Spring MVC and Hibernate, and an H2 database structure.
Skip To The Loo
This app allows users to rate and submit the locations of public restrooms in their area. The user submits their rating along with the latitude and longitude of the restroom location for other users' benefit.

This was our first weekend assignment in tandem with the front-end class at The Iron Yard. A fellow backender and I worked alongside two frontend students. This project gave me great insight into the value of communication in a team setting. Tech used on the backend: Java with Sparc microframework, JUnit for testing, and H2 for database structure
Concert Tracker
This is a simple CRUD app which allows users to create concert events and rsvp as attending or attended.

This was our second solo weekend project at The Iron Yard. We were instructed to build a CRUD "tracker" app which only allowed users to edit and delete items which the users themselves created. Tech used: Java with Spring MVC, Mustache for templating, html, CSS, and Postgres.
H2Know
This app allows users to know when to water their house-plants. The user picks from our preexisting list of plants, and after watering the plant, initializes the watering timer. When the timer is done the user knows to water their plant again.
This was an extra-curricular weekend assignment which I worked on with one front end student. I used Java with Spring and Hibernate, and H2.
